Chatter house has been the organizers of the biggest award scheme in Ghana and has always been questioned with lots of criticisms and complaints about favoritisms. Aside all that, they have held up to their game and keep correcting their mistakes.
A lot of artistes have voiced out their dismay in the award scheme as they thought it was given to people who didn’t deserve it. Asem, Kwaw Kese, Black Rasta & Shatta Wale, just to mention few are among the list of artistes who took on the organizers when they didn’t win the categories they thought they deserved.
In this article, I would like to address the most current uproar by Shatta Wale at the Ghana Music Award 2013 when He took off the auditorium after Kaakie was announced as the winner for the best dancehall artiste of the year.
Since the “Shatta Wale” incident at the VGMA’14, the SM4lyf movement has rose to stardom and exposed his talent and what he has to offer to the All-and-sundry. Ghanaians have welcomed him with opened arms and have appreciated his songs
The “Dancehall King” hitmaker took to the studios just few days after the awards show to address his worries through music as that, to him was the medium to get his views Heard. In this song, he verbally assaulted the organizers and called them names telling them he doesn’t need any award from them and should not nominate him ever.
Shatta Wale said the award scheme was demonic and satanic and he, Bandana has nothing to do with evil things. He went on to vent his anger on Kaakie, whose fault was winning the award.
The dancehall artiste has since apologized to Kaakie and Chatter house for his outburst and pledges his support to Kaakie.
Less than a week ago, he said in an interview;
‘’ I feel that Ghanaians should be well respected. Basically, I’m in an industry and if they really need to reward me for what I’m doing, then I have no problem about it. I’m ever ready to support my country; I’m ever ready to promote my country. Shatta Wale is ready to support it”
Lets all analyze what this artiste is driving to? The issue is not about the fact that he deserved that award or not, but what he said after loosing it.
I throw the question to you, Do you think Chatter House should nominate Shatta Wale in the upcoming VGMA Or use him as a scapegoat to deter other artistes from taking the same stroll?
