(AZONTO CRAZE) Having international carnivals for Azonto would definitely help to sustain the interest, development and popularity of the dance and most importantly promote Azonto as a Ghanaian asset. At this point, I would want to congratulate Flash Mob Ghana for coming up with the World Azonto Festival. This festival would indeed drive home the fact that Azonto is of Ghanaian origin. It's without doubt that Azonto originated from Ghana even though our neighbors are trying consciously and unconsciously to own it. I guess you have not forgotten about the Azonto-alingo fracas?

Azonto, as has been embraced now, is a Ghanaian dance which involves movement of most of the joints of the body in a rhythmic fashion. It involves knee bending and hip movements which are typical of most African dance forms. A very simple way of dancing Azonto is captured in the music video of FUSE ODG's “Azonto.'' Quite interestingly, daily activities involved in the way of life of a people are captured in the dance. Activities such as washing, boxing, lovemaking, driving, make-up application and others are depicted by the Azonto dance. Azonto is believed to have originated from towns like Bukom, Jamestown, Tema and other towns along the coast in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

It's also said that Azonto became widespread as visitors from other parts of the capital visited a popular street bar called Club House where most people of Bukom also visit on weekends to do the dance. Information available suggests that the dance was initially called “apaa'' meaning “work,'' which also incorporated work activities such as washing, boxing, etc. Apaa was later changed to “Azonto,” a term used by the youth in SHS. It's also an undeniable fact that before Azonto became popular all over the country; youth in SHS had already taken to the dance.

In making Azonto very popular all over the country, names like Gasmilla, Sakordie, R2Bees, Castro, Stay J, Eduwojie, 4x4 and a lot more cannot be ignored but of much importance to me is the ownership of Azonto. Can any individual claim ownership of Azonto? “Who owns the Azonto dance? This question may sound trivial but if we do not have a united front to fight our neighbors over the ownership of Azonto, we may just be fighting a lost battle. I say this because some musicians in the country have already started raising their shoulders claiming that they originated the Azonto dance.

Hiplife artiste Akoo Nana now Nahna, made it categorically clear that he started the Azonto dance. He made this claim when he spoke to ETV's Ama Pokua Mensah on the program “Awake.'' On ETV's Late Nite Celebrity Show, FBS also declared that they originated Azonto and started doing the dance so many years ago. I see this situation as very funny yet annoying. When P Square released “alingo,” none of these artistes who are now claiming ownership of Azonto reacted in any way. However, they now deem it fit to claim ownership of Azonto after the release of Samini's “Azonto.”

I must emphasize that these artistes need to shut up their mouths and stop disturbing us that they own Azonto. Azonto is now a Ghanaian asset and we need to eschew individualism. Let's forget about who owns Azonto but rather come together to fight those who want to steal Azonto from us. If you are the originator of Azonto, so what?  Why don't you go ahead and register Azonto as your bonafide invention so that you don't find yourself in the shoes of MUSIGA?

Some few weeks back, as I watched Emmanuel TV, I came across a nice gentleman who had the evil one speaking and manifesting through him. The evil one made it categorically clear that most songs and dances that do not glorify God are used by the devil for his destructive activities. These songs and dances then become evil. Within the week, I watched a prayer and miracle program by Bishop Bonigas and in one instance, an evil spirit manifested through a young lady and said that Azonto is her name .The evil spirit revealed that her name - Azonto, which is also the current dance craze, is done in her kingdom which is found beneath water bodies. Need I say more? Absolutely no! I drop my “diabolic” pen. I rest my case.

                                                        Jimchinese
Just after news broke in the media that Nigeria’s celebrated movie star, Jim Iyke, was involved in a brawl at the Crave Cafe at Adjiringanor, East Legon, Accra, Nigeriafilms.Com made an effort to investigate the story to find out the details of what actually happened at the said place involving the movie star.

Speaking to one Nana Kwesi who invited Jim Iyke to the Cahaya lounge where the incident happened, he told Nigeriafilms.com, Correspondent in Ghana Mustapha Ayinde Inusah, “how funny people twist and turn stories around.”

He added that all the details given in the publication about Jim Iyke fighting over $ 10, 000 was fabricated.

“There was an issue between Jim Iyke and his business partner (name not disclosed to us) at the Cahaya Lounge just opposite ex-President J. J. Rawlings house and not Crave CafĂ© as the media reported it. The issue had nothing to do with Jim Ike fighting over $ 10,000. Also, Jim Iyke never attempted to pull a gun,” Nana Kwesi revealed.

Nana said he invited Jim Iyke to Cahaya Lounge to discuss a water treatment project with him - clean water and chemical treatment of water. When Jim Iyke got to Cahaya Lounge with his car and parked, another car drove in and parked just behind Jim Ike’s car.

He continued that after the gentleman parked, he got out and started behaving funny. The gentleman wanted to attack Jim Iyke so he Nana intervened and prevented the man from attacking Jim.

The man went back to his car and pulled an amount of $ 10,000, haranguing that he wanted to give it to Jim Iyke if the latter had signed a particular document.

Perplexed Nana Kwesi inquired what the real issue is and why the man said that he wanted to give Jim Iyke $ 10,000 if he Jim had signed a document. The man, who alleged that he is a business partner to Jim Iyke, said he invited Jim Iyke into a meeting at Royal Fiesta hotel.

Jim Iyke got there and he was asked to sign a contract but because the contract was not too clear, Jim requested that there is a need to involve a lawyer or legal brain to peruse the document before he could append his signature on it.

Because of that, the man got fumed, accusing Jim Iyke of wasting his time and also spoiling his business because there were other people involved who wanted Jim to sign so they can carry on with the business.

After everything was settled at the Lounge, the man reported to the police that Jim Ike had attacked him. When the police got to the scene, the people around who was also hob-nobing and were eye witnesses to what ensued, narrated to the police that it is the man who rather attacked Jim Iyke and not the converse. The police left without causing any arrest.

All attempts by NigeriaFilms.com to get the name as well as the other side of the story (the man), proved otiose as at the time of making this publication. We promise to follow up on this story so stick and stay with us.

Yvonne Okoro has been selected by healthcare products and consumer goods PZ Cussons Ghana LTD as the company’s new face.

The Ghanaian actress was on set last weekend to shoot series of commercials as part of her first duties as PZ brand ambassador.

Excited about her new role as ambassador, Yvonne tweeted and posted photos from the shoot. ‘Excited much.’

No word yet if the deal will extend to PZ Cussons Nigeria.

Okoro, who is one of the seven biggest actresses in Ghana, is born to a Nigerian dad and Ghanaian mother.
Former Big Brother Africa winner, Karen Igho, has rained insults on Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, claiming the actress' Twitter account was never hacked.

The insults came Thursday, not long after Yvonne had been apologizing over some messages that had been sent from her Twitter handle. According to her, her account was hacked, and hence those messages.

Apparently, Karen Igho also received some of those messages which were in bad taste via Yvonne’s accounts. It read "Fake Boobs....No wonder you don't have a BF....

But Karen does not believe that Yvonne's account was hacked. She took to twitter to tear the Ghanaian actress apart...which can be read below the pictures.

Karen later deleted her tweets and jokingly claimed she was also hacked. She tweeted: Oops my account was hacked too!

Intro: Kanye West]
GOOD Music, Yeezy
[Verse 1: Kanye West]
If you ask me
Anybody who ain’t tell you was beautiful today need their ass beat
As we proceed, Island breeze, light the weed
I couldn’t find the words on how I feel
But what I lacked in skill I made up for in real
Time, the most precious thing a man could give
Because what she givn’ back is why that man can live
We need to take a break, minus the screech, oh
Find a resort, what? Private beach, Oooh
Pina colada sippin’, by the sunset
My mission is to find every position, we ain’t done yet
[Hook : D'banj]
Take my heart
Take my love
Take my body, come build my home
Stay with me Iyawomi
Because you love me
(I would be your Scape goat honey
Because you came through for me
You gave me break through baby oh ahhhh) X2
[Verse 2: D'banj]
Baby Boo
I can see your eyes
Say you don jam many fools for your life
Them go come as lovers as them disguise
But as time goes by, na your body be the price.
The biceps…wey you carry na die
That’s why sometimes I no dey surprise
Them go say them love you but that na lie.
Chop and clean mouth, tell you bye bye
Me sef i no tell you say na me holy pass
Some people dey talk say i dey use jazz
Them say I bush, Some say I razz
Them say I be nobody, I no get class, Well
I’ve been bad and I know it and I’m sorry – wanna show it
But no one would give me a chance to prove myself
Despite what you’ve heard of me
You still went ahead to be with me
You have chosen to be there for me
To you, I make this vow (I say)
[Verse 3: Kanye West]
You getting louder than a two year old drumset
That’s a mean [?], you work a mean stick
You’re like a phoenix, you could be my phoenix
Just rub your hands all over my penis
Swag, swag on Mach 5
Pac, cause don’t it feel like Pac alive?
Feel my apocalypse, feel like I could just
Touch heaven with a Godess in my fingertips
And I’m just trying to kiss every single lips
Hey Yeezy, what’s your next single is?
That D’banj causing hysteria
Soon as we hop of the plane in Nigeria
[Hook : D'banj]
Take my heart
Take my love
Take my body, come build my home
Stay with me Iyawomi
Because you love me
(I would be your Scape goat honey
Because you came through for me
You gave me break through baby oh ahhhh) X2
