Western dominance over africa through western media

Africa in seen in the world as a curse, but is it that there is nothing good in Africa ? Surely there are so many good things happening in africa , there are major development taking place in
ghana , the country am from , but yet still Africa is known as a curse.
Who is to be blamed for this negative view about Africa? I will say one major contributing factor is the western media.Am taking about the BBC,CNN,ALJAZEERA and the rest. But are what they report true? Yes , but i dont  understand why they look at only one side of the coin. After all there are many bad deeds been done in the western world that are over look to protect their image.
For so many years the news reported by this western media about africa are mainly centered around

POVERTY/DROUGHT
TERRORISM/CRIME
AIDS/DISEASES
CORRUPTION

Just like what i said earlier on , there are so many wonderful things taking place in africa that the world can appreciate but no , the west still want to keep africa under colonial rule so they do what they have to do to achieve that goal.
I must say the western media is a major driving force , the west see africa through this medium and unfortunately,  africans prefer to watch this western media compared to local news.
It is time to build a positive mindset about our continent and see how best we can develop it, instead of blaming politicians for been corrupt.
So if the politicians wont do it does it mean we should fold our hands and blame each other? Certainly not ,its time for africa to shine and we can do it together.
Today if you read this article , sit down and think about what you can contribute to the development of your nation and if you are willing to do it, there shall be a way
